Giving...
When we hear the word Give the first thing that comes to most minds is money, food or literally giving out something but the act of giving is beyond that. This aspect of giving that i want to emphasis on in today's topic is rarely noticed. I once read a testimony of a woman that was blessed with hope, apparently the woman was in a predicament, as she sat at a bus stop, filled with self-pity worrying about a very terrible situation she found herself then she saw a young girl who seem to be homeless and happens to move from one point to another dragging with her butt because she can't walk, she has no leg and has no one with her to assist with anything. She approached her with the biggest smile and said hello to her and kept moving. All she did was said hello but the smile on her face when she said hello was what caught her attention and apparently blessed her. She thought to herself if a physically challenge homeless young girl could wear such big smile, could still greet people; why then am i wearing this pitiful, worrisome and sad look she said to herself, after all her predicament is nothing compare to the young lady's yet she still gave her something, she gave her hope, she gave her a thousand and one reasons to be thankful.
Now, this young lady didn't even know what she had done. An act of kindness goes beyond what you physically give people but things you say or even your action goes a long way. When you pray for your neighbour you are interceding, telling a friend about a job opportunity could be that you have gotten her a job, reminding a brother not to drink while driving could be you saving someone's life. It doesn't hurt to be kind or nice, an act of kindness is a way of giving. We all have one or two things bothering us but always remember that someone somewhere could be in worse situation. Also when you give out of the little you have you are actually sowing and you will be blessed in folds beyond your imagination.
The best way to give is to give without expecting anything in return, give out of love and let God bless you even in a bigger way.
With all these been said, i will like to literally bless four people with gifts and those are the first set of people that responded to my blog through comments, not that i don't appreciate everyone that liked my blog or page but this is just an easy way for me to pick people out of my audience to say thank you. I appreciate everyone. I will be contacting these persons via direct message.
Meanwhile i got to make some scented homemade candles as part of the gifts i want to give out to some few people around me this season. I believe some of us are interested in DIY (Do It Yourself) projects, but i will like to encourage those of us especially women that are either still hoping to get a job or are stay at home moms even some of us that work but still have reasonable time to get some things done, to try out a few simple diy's. I know it seem like work but i can assure you it's interesting and engaging. I always feel good each time i get creative and i could bring my creativity to life, and the good thing about it is that you get to know all the stuffs that went into a particular project, you can make it to your own taste and your personality could be seen all over it and in most cases it is economical.
DIY project is fun, interesting, exercises the brain because we get to think of something we can do either with an old stuff or broken item that we normally will consider useless and trash, you will be surprised at the things you can make out of such things.
Below are pictures of the candles which i made with beeswax. If anyone is interested kindly reach out and i will give u list of the items i used and explain how i got it done it's pretty simple.

ReplyDeleteHmmmm! well done Sis Kemi. The Lord Will continue to bless you richly. Merry Xmas.
ReplyDeleteAmen and thank you. Though I don't know who this is but I appreciate.
DeleteBrilliant! What scent did you use? I always always love Banana mixed with vanilla- never tired of that combo smell! And oh, i like the finishing...those butterflies. If i were an animal, i would be a butterfly. Beeswax- i think we can get to buy it here in Nigeria, right? Could you please share your recipe with us.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for reminding us of equally great gifts that come in intangible packages like- hope, love, a simple thank you that put smiles on people's faces and lifts burden. Thank a mil!
Thank you, for the candle I used mint, cinnamon and lavender oil. I made the butterflies out of papers bags I have at home. I will share the recipes as requested and am sure we can get beeswax or soy wax in Nigeria. Thank you for the follow ups and your encouragement, I do appreciate.
